T

he conclusion of Tattersalls October yearling sales saw a total of forty-five yearlings by Too Darn Hot offered at Park Paddocks. 13 of those were catalogued in Book 1 of the sale and realised an average price of 191,308 guineas.

Hazelwood Bloodstock consigned two notable Too Darn Hot colts at the sale. The first, an early lot on day one of book one, a strong attractive colt out of Galileo mare Sellsabeel, herself a half-sister to Alpha Centuri, Alpine Star, Discoveries and Tenth Star. Sellsabeel has produced three winners from four runners so far and this colt was hammered down to The Hong Kong Jockey Club for 450,000gns.

We were delighted to consign the second highest priced Too Darn Hot of the sale at Watership Down Stud, out of the Fastnet Rock mare, Rocana. StroudColeman went to 310,000gns for the half to Youth Spirit and Canberra Legend.

Book two saw Too Darn Hot continue to strike in the ring with the third highest priced colt of the sale, the hammer fell again to StroudColeman for 350,000gns. This colt was a real stand out in the catalogue, offered by Hascombe and Valiant Stud Ltd. He is out of G3 Bronte Cup Stakes winning and G2 placed mare, Precious Remotswe. The family hails from a list of G1 performers including Rebecca Sharp and Golden Horn.

Too Darn Hot hit the headlines once again following book three, when a colt offered by Hazelwood Bloodstock out of exciting young mare, Moohareeba topped the sales charts. This colt is a first foal out of the mare, herself a winner and placed in all of her starts and a daughter of the Champion South African two-year-old filly Mahbooba. This, making her a half to Group performers Mootsadir and Dubai Warrior.
