fter a summer of preparations, our Book 1 yearlings have arrived in Park Paddocks, Newmarket. The Tattersalls October yearling sales begin on Tuesday, and we will be showing them over the weekend. The draft is represented by seventeen outstanding yearlings, predominantly colts, with just one filly representative. Highlights include an outstanding homebred colt by Sea The Stars out of So Mi Dar (lot 277), a quality son of Dubawi out of Floors Studs’ formidable mare, Attraction (lot 397) and the second produce from G2 Temple Stakes winner Priceless, a filly by Dubawi (lot 217).

There is a significant amount of sire power with four yearlings by Dubawi in the draft and as many again by Kingman. Others include Galileo, Sea The Stars and Frankel. Not only do the stallions play a big part in the draft, but 83% of the yearlings on offer in Book 1 are siblings of or out of Stakes winners.

If you haven’t already seen, we have released our virtual catalogue for both Book 1 & 2. All yearlings have photos and videos that can be viewed here;

We have a further twelve yearlings heading to Book 2, the draft is made up by a variety of quality sires such Zoustar, Sea The Stars and Le Havre. This time, the draft is more evenly split with seven fillies on offer, including the first foal out of Queen Cordelia, by Le Havre. Queen Cordelia is out of G1 Tattersalls Gold Cup winner Rebelline, who has subsequently produced the G3 winner Recharge, half to Queen Cordelia (catalogued at lot 876).

The draft also includes a strong Zoustar filly, catalogued as lot 1210 out of G3 placed mare Belliflore. She has already produced five winners, from six runners. This filly is a half-sister to G1 placed, Boitron (Le Havre). Lot 600, is a super filly by Starspangledbanner, out of black type mare Greenisland. This filly is consequently half-sister to listed winners Boerhan and Shamson and the family hails from the mighty Green Castle, dam of Millisle, Gino Severini and Ithoughtitwasover.

In the southern hemisphere, we have been delighted to hear of the arrival of new darn foals! Fine Scent, a mare purchased last year with Too Darn Hot in mind has safely delivered a beautiful filly and Podravina (Bel Espirit) has foaled a strapping colt described as ‘very handsome indeed’. Keep an eye out for foal photos to follow on our social platforms.
