oo Darn Hot has landed in Australia with another stellar line up of mares for the season ahead. Breeders were offered one last opportunity to secure a nomination to our dual European Champion by bidding in an online auction with all proceeds going towards CatWalk’s spinal cord injury research.

The nomination was sold via the Magic Millions online sales platform and attracted strong interest from a number of bidders. The hammer fell to TJS Bloodstock at 55,000AUD. “Too Darn Hot is set to cover another exceptional book and we have no doubt that these funds will help support much-needed spinal cord injury research.” Godolphin Australia’s Managing Director Vin Cox said.

Funds raised from the sale of the Too Darn Hot nomination will support the CatWalk aim of fixing paralysis following spinal cord injury.

Madeleine Lloyd-Webber said she was proud to be able to support such a wonderful cause. “As a former Event rider myself, it’s by the grace of God that I escaped serious injury and this wonderful initiative will help injured rider in their hour of need.”

“The proceeds from this sale will go towards world-class research in NZ, and also to a neurostimulation trial occurring at NeuRA in Sydney,” CatWalk General Manager Meg Speirs noted.

“The CatWalk Trust believes the need for the development of treatments being made available across Australia and New Zealand is critical to repairing the complex damage caused by a spinal cord injury,” Speirs added.

Too Darn Hot’s return to Australia was highlighted too by the exciting arrival of his first Southern Hemisphere foal. Congratulations to Fernrigg Farm (New South Wales) on the arrival of your new darn foal! The filly was described as ‘the perfect tank’! Fernrigg Farm added, “this was a very special moment and I’m ecstatic to say she’s a ripper!”.

We were treated to another Glorious renewal of the Qatar Goodwood Festival last week. Just two years ago, we saw Too Darn Hot romp home to take the G1 Sussex Stakes. This year it was the turn of the wonder-filly Alcohol Free. Congratulations to her connections.

In other news from around the stud, our foals have begun the weaning process and our yearlings have started their sales preparations. We will be bringing you an interactive catalogue of our yearling drafts in September, which will be available for all to view.
