The Fugue foals Dubawi colt

29 January 2018

ALL at Watership Down Stud were delighted to welcome a Dubawi colt foal out of star racemare The Fugue on Friday morning (26 January).

This colt is the third foal out of the nine-year-old who carried the famous Lloyd-Webber silks to four Group 1 triumphs.

Both the colt and his mother are reported to be doing well and The Fugue is set to visit Siyouni in a few weeks’ time.

Simon Marsh, general manager of Watership Down Stud, said: “The Fugue has foaled an exceptional colt foal. It is early days but at this stage we couldn’t be happier.”

The Fugue, a daughter of Dansili, traces back to Sumoto, one of the stud’s foundation mares who bred eight winners, among them Group 1 winners Compton Admiral and Summoner.

The Fugue’s dam, Twyla Tharp, was also a daughter of Sumoto, who finished second in the Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot.
