Exciting yearlings set to light up Tattersalls Book 1

THE Watership Down Stud team are looking forward to offering an exciting draft of yearlings for sale at Tattersalls Book 1 next week (3-5 October).

A total of 16 yearlings will enter the famous sales ring including three by the top-British based stallion Dubawi. Based at Darley, Dubawi has sired 31 Group 1 winners to date and was the fastest stallion ever to sire 50 Group winners.

Watership Down will offer up two fillies by him and one colt. The first, lot 23, is a filly out of Rainbow Quest mare Kelly Nicole and is a full sister to Group 2 winner and Group 1-placed Aljamaaheer. Next up is lot 195, the first foal out of Group 1 Fillies’ and Mares’ champion Seal Of Approval while lot 383 is out of Oaks winner Casual Look and a half-brother to two Stakes performers.

Lots 404, 405 and 406 offer buyers an opportunity to purchase into the wonderful ‘Crystal Music’ family.

Lot 406, a colt by Dansili is out of the Fillies’ Mile winner herself making him a half-brother to five winners including Stakes performers Treasury Devil, Crystanny and Crystal Moment.

Lot 405, is a filly by Sea The Stars out of a daughter of Crystal Music in Crystal Maze (Gone West). This filly is a half-sister to Group 2 winner Ocovango and two other winners in Vermulen and Crystal Dome.

Lot 406 is also out of a mare who is a daughter of Crystal Music in Crysdal, an unraced daughter of Dalakhani. This colt is by leading sire of two-year-olds Exceed and Excel.

Few fillies in the sale have a pedigree to match lot 497 a daughter of New Approach and Hoity Toity. This filly is a half-sister to multiple Group 1 winner Lillie Langtry making her a close relation to champion Minding.

The draft also includes lot 439, a colt by Oasis Dream out of a half-sister to US champion Zenyatta, lot 419, a daughter of leading stallion Dark Angel and Listed scorer Dark Promise and an intriguing son of Frankel’s brother Noble Mission, lot 277, who is a half-brother to Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Filly winner She Be Wild.

The yearlings will be available for viewing from Saturday morning.
