Back to back victories for Wapping

12 June 2017

WAPPING made it two wins on the bounce when taking the feature 1m4f handicap at Brighton on Monday afternoon.

The son of Smart Strike, who carries the colours of Lord Lloyd-Webber, won at Bath last month and stepped up on that success to win again under jockey Tom Queally.

Queally made every yard of the running on the David Lanigan-trained four-year-old and he held on gamely in the closing stages to win by a neck.

Queally said: “David and I had discussed tactics and it all went to plan. He acts well on these tracks and on the quick ground and is a horse going the right way.”

Wapping, now a three-time winner, was bred in partnership by Bill Farish and Watership Down Stud.
