11 December 2015

THE Kiltinan Castle Stud team enjoyed another successful sale at Tattersalls last week where 12 mares changed hands for 1,109,000gns.

The top priced lot was Lady Hawkfield (1944) who was purchased by Charlie Gordon-Watson on behalf of Lord and Lady Lloyd-Webber.

The daughter of Hawk Wing has already produced Group 3 winner Master Apprentice and is in foal to leading sire Shamardal. Lady Hawkfield is also a close relation of multiple Group 1 winner Lillie Langtry, dam of Classic contender Minding.

Charlie said: “Charlie said: “It's a happening family - Lillie Langtry has produced Minding, who could be a champion next year, she has produced a good one herself, is in-foal to Shamardal and her Exceed And Excel yearling has gone to John Gosden.”

Toast Of The Town (1943) was knocked down to David Redvers for 92,000gns. The winning daughter of Duke Of Marmalade is in foal to Showcasing and comes from the family of speedsters Mince and Strut.

Redvers also signed the ticket for Listed winner Sorella Bella for 82,000gns. The daughter of Clodovil is carrying to exciting young sire Lope De Vega.
